How a session runs

Three moves, whether you're in a room of thirty or on a call with two thousand.

Step 1

Build the deck

Write questions in the editor, or import them from a spreadsheet you already have. Multiple choice, scored or unscored, with a timer if you want one.

Step 2

Share the code

Open the session and a short code appears. Put it on your slide. Participants type it into a browser and they're in.

Step 3

Run and reveal

Push one question at a time. Watch answers arrive, reveal the result when the room has settled, and move on.

Built for people who run rooms

Corporate trainers and L&D

Keep a long session awake and find out what actually landed. Scored rounds tell you which part of the material needs the review hour.

Educators and colleges

Check understanding mid-lecture without collecting anything. Works on whatever device the student already owns.

Conference and event hosts

Open a keynote with a question instead of a slide. Results project straight from your screen.

What you get

Nothing to install

Participants use a browser and a code. No download, no sign-up, no email address collected before someone can answer a question.

Built for large remote cohorts

Designed for participants joining from their own home connections across many networks, not one venue's wifi.

Scored quizzes, not just polls

Mark the correct answer and Showhands keeps score. Participants see how they did; you see how the room did.

Import questions you already have

Bring a spreadsheet of questions across instead of retyping them into a form.

Results you can keep

Export the session afterwards, so the answers outlive the room.

Anonymous by default

Answering takes a code and nothing else. No email address, no name, no account — so people answer honestly instead of carefully.

Questions

Do participants need to install an app?
No. They open a browser, enter the session code and start answering. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
How many people can join one session?
Sessions are built for large remote cohorts joining from their own connections rather than a single venue network. If you are planning something unusually large, get in touch before the date and we will check it with you.
Can I pay in Indian rupees?
Showhands is free during the beta. When paid plans launch, Indian customers will be billed in INR with a GST invoice, and customers elsewhere in USD.
Where is session data stored?
On infrastructure in the Bengaluru region, India. Indian customers get data residency without asking for it. If you are elsewhere, responses still arrive in real time — a poll is not latency-sensitive the way a video call is — and we are happy to talk through your requirements before you commit.
Can I use it with a remote or hybrid audience?
Yes. Participants join from wherever they are, so it works the same on a video call as it does in a lecture hall. Share the code on your screen and it reaches everyone watching.
